DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 6 (Six) American shelf clocks: (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Plymouth Hollow, Conn., column shelf clock with a brass spring driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany case, c1850; (2) Atkins & Porter, Bristol, Conn., quarter column shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1845. (3) J. C. Brown, Forestville, Conn. half column shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c 1850. (4) Seth Thomas, Plymouth Hollow, Conn., half column shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1855. (5) Sperry & Shaw, 10 Cortlandt St., New York., 4 column NY style case only, c1845. (6) Daniel Pratt, Reading, Mass OG shelf clock with a weight driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1860.
CONDITION: (1) The case has been refinished, the dial has some loss and the door glasses are original and lower tablet by Wm. B. Fenn. The name on the movement has been over stamped (2) The case has some original finish, a touched up painted dial and original door glasses. (3) The case has some original finish, the original painted dial has some loss and the door glasses are original. (4) The case has been refinished, the original painted dial touched up and the door glasses are original with back side repainting to the lower glass. (5) The rosewood case finish is mostly original. The door has two excellent period glasses. There is no movement, dial, hands, weights or pendulum bob. (6) The case has some original finish with veneer loss. The original signed painted dial has loss at the lower right corner. The weights are missing. ***NOTE*** The dimensions are for clock no. 6.
